Cute-as-a-Button Eagle Rock Modern

We just wrapped up the staging of this adorable, completely redone Eagle Rock bungalow with style for days. Vaulted main living area ceilings and fresh light wood floors make this one practically glow. Lots of light pours in from interesting small clerestory and narrow vertical windows that maximize the LA sun’s potential. The homeowner painted the lower kitchen cabinetry and island a stunning blue that informed our choices of colors in the staging.

A multi-light pendant hangs far above the living room, where we laid down a tribal pattern jute rug for graphic impact. A dark gray Mid Century modern style sofa anchors the room and a pair of MCM chairs pull up for added seating.

The 48” inch small Finna bookcase from the MoDRN line was exactly the right size for the “TV niche” the homeowner added. A framed B&W photo of horses stands in for a screen.

We hung one of our fave pieces of art — a teal agate abstract from Deny Designs — above the sofa for height. A coffee table from MEVA International has industrial metal legs to mix things up with a different leg style.

A dining area just off the kitchen is the perfect size for a small round table and four MCM chairs. We styled the table simply with a tall vase and a large hammered brass bowl. Outside, a quintessential LA view with a next door neighbor’s slanted roof line and a palm tree.

In the master bedroom, a reclaimed-wood-look bed with linens from Parachute and a pair of Scandi-style nightstands under a round brass mirror. A shaggy rug from designer Thom Filicia and a highly textured neutral pillow finish off this warm and Hygge look.

The master bath is a symphony of B&W and high contrast with matte black fixtures, brass and black lighting and small honeycomb tile on the floor. We styled simply with B&W framed photos, gray Turkish towels and matte black accessories.

A guest bedroom is treated to a yummy pattern and texture mix. A small framed B&W abstract adds an organic touch. Pillows are from H&M and Amazon

As if all this Instagrammy goodness isn’t enough for you, the backyard features a fully terraced xeriscape and — you guessed it — a “she shed” at the top of the property.

The exterior of the home is inviting and fresh and just beckons you to climb its stairs.
