staging an architectural spanish style home

Every now and then we at Madison Modern Home get to stage a property that we feel we could pretty much move into right away. That was the case with a staging we recently did in Highland Park.

The 2,000 square foot new-construction home offered many staging opportunities with its elegant Spanish architecture and grand sweeping staircase. We were inspired to reach into Moorish design to play off the smooth plaster walls and vintage style ironwork. Grand ceiling height and large windows create a light and airy atmosphere into which we put our signature touch of elegant - yet family friendly - design.

In the living room, a slate blue sofa and hits of orange, cream and aqua define a Moorish-influenced style - evident in rich contrasting colors and exotic textures.

Below, a view from the built-in bar separating the living room and family room. Careful attention was paid to every detail, including the choice of wine bottles for their label colors, which add warmth.

A great use of space: a bar that’s a built-in divider between a casual space and a more formal sitting room. Perfect for entertaining. All we had to do was add dark brown upholstered counter seats and set the stage for a cozy glass of wine for two.

A soothing mix of blues and greens dominate the color scheme in the family room. All playing off the vintage style sage green mantelpiece. Curvy green chairs encircle a round glass and chrome coffee table, echoed by a ringed circular mirror.

Below, in the dining room, strongly profiled Shaker style ladder back chairs and crisp blue and white stoneware beneath a Craftsman pendant.

The kitchen, below, featured a tile backsplash with slate blue, copper and sage green, which we used as accent colors throughout the home.

Details from the rest of the home.
