"the office" stars in its own makeover

Afun project … Redesigning an office from the ground up. The space has been transformed from corporate blah to modern, relaxed and full of its occupant’s personality. Key features in the makeover: Benjamin Moore’s Dior Gray on one wall, an IKEA Galant desk, CB2’s Halogen Credenza in lobster red, a kicky red Olle chair from IKEA, along with IKEA’s 365 Lunta Floor Lamp, as well as a totally Jonathan-Adler style end table sourced from Target. Two curvy Cody chairs from West Elm in graphite echo the dark gray wall. (Unfortunately, our client’s Cody chairs fell apart within weeks of purchase and are being returned to West Elm!)

An Array Silver Bookcase from CB2 holds books, while a lamp sourced at Home Goods brings glossy red to the desk. A campy selection of framed movie and Broadway play posters — including HItchcock’s “The Birds” in French, “L’es Oiseaux” — mixes in additional touches of bright red. The scooter girl toy was a find in Spain, while vintage items — a rusty industrial tool tray, vintage Italian red coffee cup, wooden boxes, an MCM handmade child’s chair, naive art and an eye chart address book — were all sourced from thrift shops.
